Our first port of call was Puerto Vallarta. I was there about 17 years ago, and it has grown tremendously since then. It is really much more of a city than it was back then. But, since we were only there for the morning, we only had a little time to enjoy it anyway, so we mostly just walked around until we found a restaurant recommendation that we trusted. We enjoyed some of the great statues along the beach walk. This is an eggplant man, eating an eggplant. Some kind of exploration of cannibalism I guess.
And there was a large circle of these different chairs. All scorching hot in the sun.
Gotta love the butt cheek detail!
And Natalie just had to climb the ladder.
We thooroughly enjoyed our lunch, and about halfway through it this dancer came in fully garbed with a drummer also done up, (I couldn't get a shot of him because he was behind some posts.)
Natalie was very interested in this, (but nearly as interested in her burrito) and turned around to watch in between bites, (notice both her snazzy new "Natalie" bracelet and the antiquity of her high chair!)
Posing for the picture. I like the way his nipple rings glisten in the sunlight. I'm not sure if those and the tattoos are really authentic to the period, but they sure do make things a bit more interesting.
Worn out on the way back to the boat.
After a good long nap, and a little swim, we went up on the top deck to check out the sunset over Puerto Vallarta.
And we ran into my aunt and uncle. This is near the front of the boat, looking forward.
And this is looking back at one of the pools.
My babes.
Tomorrow, Mazatlan.
