First Election!

Yesterday Sweetpea and I went to the polls to cast our votes!! There were lots of interesting issues on the ballots.... it's crazy what people try and sneak with all sorts of misleading language... I guess we'll see what happens on Tuesday... should be an interesting day!!

Laughing at Chewy

Sweetpea has been interested in Chewy for a while now, but this is the first time she's laughed at him!! It started last night when we tossed a candy corn across the floor for chewy to chase... he slid and ran, and Sweetpea thought it was hilarious!! So we got out the feather, and a bit belatedly, the camera, and took this short video before the cat got sick of playing.

Shoes, Naps, Dogs, and Hair

Okay... I know that's a lot of topics to cover in one post, but since I've been slacking off, I figure I shouldn't wait to post these cute pictures!!

Sweetpea got her first pair of everyday shoes this week!! Here she is standing all by herself (briefly) in them!! She's worn shoes before, but these ones actually stay on. It's getting colder here and it just seemed like socks weren't going to cut it for the Fall.

She's been taking shorter and shorter naps lately... but I guess sometimes that lack of sleep just catches up with her! Here she is totally zonked right in the middle of some tummy time.

The same day, must have been Monday, my dad came over and we went for a walk with his dogs around the lake right by our house. Sweetpea is as fascinated with the dogs as she is with the cat! They provide endless entertainment!

And one more pic... I almost made a separate post just for some of these bath time pics!! Her hair is getting so long.... well, some of her hairs!! And I don't think we could ever be accused of starving the child!! I love her stout little body!

Okay, that's all for now!! Tomorrow I'm hosting a Halloween themed baby shower for Amy, and Sweetpea will be dressing up in her costume!! I'll post some pictures of that soon!!

Pumpkin Shopping

Do you have these gigantic pumpkin patches where you live?! This one is huge - pumpkins as far as the eye can see! Biggest pumpkin patch in Colorado, measuring over 100 acres!! Sweatpea thought the pumpkins were very interesting... She also got to wear her new pumpkin hat I knitted for her last weekend. It needs a wash though... I think it was itchy... even though it's mostly cashmere!! Lucky kid.

Here she is looking cute with her dad. He's actually busy carving the last of the pumpkins right now!! I'll post pictures of our jack o' lanterns another time!!

Our Budding Artiste!

So at daycare they finger paint in the infant room... I asked the teachers what this consits of, and they said it's mostly a sensory excersise for the babies. They feel the paints, and the teachers move the paper under their little hands.

I've seen Sweetpea's works on the wall... there's a lovely joint effort piece with her footprints across it in orange. Like fall leaves.

Our Days are Numbered

Our nice days that is... I just wanted to post this cute picture from Wednesday morning... Sweatpea's dad took her for a walk to our local lake... it's much colder today. And overcast.... Fall is here for sure.

Feeding Frenzy

Our dainty little sugarplum can sure pack it in!! I can't even keep up with her on this blog!! Here she is trying her first squash!!

Yumm... room temperature mashed squash! Isn't that everyone's favorite? She didn't even blink. Ate it up and asked for more. What a good girl.

She likes to wash down her solid meals with a cold sippy cup of water. So refreshing.

So now, to get you up to date, She's had rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, peas, carrots, green beans, squash, apples, bannanas, and pears.

Tonight, sweet potatoes!! I'm so excited.

New Friends and Old

We went down to Pearl St again to visit with my old friend Rach! She's 20 weeks pregnant... I think there's something in the water...



Sweatpea made another new friend at the Boulder bookstore when we took refuge from the rain to read a few good stories. This llama was just the right size!!

And then when we went out for dinner we ran into my friend from work... I had to post this picture of him... caught red handed holding a baby!! Don't worry... I won't tell anyone.... Oops!



We ate dinner with some more old friends, and one new one! This sweet little girl is one month younger! And she was nice enough to share her carrots with Sweetpea too!!

Isn't Applesauce everyone's favorite!? Even I like the baby variety. And Sweetpea is no exception.

Mommy and Me Yoga

So Mommy and Me Yoga is a great idea... new moms get to get out of the house with their babies, and maybe even get a bit of relaxing excersise in! Plus the babies get to meet other babies, and everyone wins! And since everyone there has a little one, they're all pretty understanding when someone's crying, or needs a diaper or some of Momma's milk. N and I just finished taking a class in Boulder this week. Too bad it's so far away or I'd consider taking the second session.

In January I'll be teaching a couple of these classes myself! I'm really looking forward to it... I'll be teaching one for crawlers by then since N will be more mobile. I'm really enjoying teaching all the preggos in prenatal yoga... all those big bellies.... it's so much fun. So the babies should be a trip.
