My friend Renee and I had a little trade off with the husbands this weekend. In the morning, she and I went and parked ourselves in a coffee shop, knitting and chatting and being waited on. Then we did a bit of shopping around downtown Ft. Collins.
In the afternoon, the boys went fishin'. Here are the capable young dads preparing for their morning of kid chaos.
And these are the four kids themselves! With only one pair of parents, we're just the right size to fit in Renee's snazzy new minivan.
Then we all got back together for some BBQ in the evening.
It all went off without a hitch, except for the pool where we were going to take the kids swimming in the afternoon was jam packed with kids swimming a state meet, so we had to make do with the park instead. Oh yeah, and while at the park, a squirrel got into our cheerios!! Oh well, almost perfect!
We'll be doing this again soon.
